Aimi Nitta is an amiable, laidback person with a passion for music and its creation. He has a tendency to approach people he finds interesting and makes friends easily, being able to get along with almost anyone. Around strangers and colleagues, he comes off as cool and composed. Around close friends—however, Aimi becomes loud, playful, and energetic; he’s typically seen bickering with Koga, teasing Makoto, or bouncing off of Subaru and his antics with ease.Aimi has graduated from Yumenosaki and is currently attending a university while working on contractual audio production work for various agencies under Ensemble Square. He's also begun to perform at underground gigs as a guitarist on the side.

Makoto Yuuki: Currently dating as of post-graduation. The two meet during Aimi’s first collaboration with Trickstar and begin to bond due to a somewhat mutual interest in technology. Their relationship grows due to these interests, their daily interactions, and a mutual love and deep respect they develop for one another.
Anzu: The first person he met in the producer course. They began to bond upon meeting at Yumenosaki and grew to share a love and strong admiration for Trickstar. She is the one who refers Aimi to Ensemble Square for contractual work after he graduates, and has even worked on projects alongside him.
Koga Oogami: The person who inspires him to perform. The pair meet early on during daily activities at the academy and get to know each other as Aimi attends Light Music Club meetings to learn how to play guitar. They tend to bicker and even rough-house, though they've grown to develop genuine admiration for each other.
Izumi Sena: The only enemy he's had—at least for a time. They meet while Izumi is visiting for work. Aimi finds himself disliking Izumi due to their treatment of Makoto, alongside their attitude. While their relationship has improved since then, they continue to get into petty arguments here and there.
Subaru Akehoshi: The shining star that lights him up. Upon meeting, the pair quickly develops a bond due to their personalities. Their typical interactions tend to involve them bouncing off each other's jokes with ease or one of them egging the other on when it comes to their antics. As Aimi learns about his father's history, he grows to also feel empathetic toward his struggles and proud of his growth as an idol.
Mao Isara: A fellow hard worker and the person he can relate to. The duo became close friends as a result of their activities involving their respective work, as well as their shared involvement in the Light Music Club. They find themselves relating to one another due to their shared desire of wanting to support others. They often take turns pulling the other away from work as a reminder to take care of themselves.
Hokuto Hidaka: The leader he finds comfort in. Aimi grows to admire Hokuto as both the leader of his favorite unit and as a person. Aimi will occasionally tease him, especially when joking around with Subaru, but tends to dial back if he feels he'd be taking things too far. He also goes to him whenever he needs a breather, as the pair will sometimes go on walks or to local cafes to destress.
Originally born in America but having moved overseas with his parents and brother at a young age, Aimi was an aspiring audio engineer who wanted to work with musicians big and small across many genres. Having a few relatives who dabbled in music production, he was inspired to pursue a career of similar nature, wanting to work behind the scenes to support idols and musicians like the ones he loved.
Aimi began doing plentiful audio engineering research upon moving; what initially started as a means of coping with the new adjustment would soon grow into a genuine love and passion for the craft. However, he would only be able to work hands-on with equipment whenever his relatives let him try theirs' out while he and his family visited over the holidays every few years.
Despite these skills, his work ethic and perfectionism have impacted his self-esteem. Whenever he is under tremendous stress, he will question his merits, acting in high levels of self-deprecation while in a state of insecurity and sadness. Aimi will keep his negative thoughts and feelings to and isolate himself from others as a means of coping, believing he can take on this stress by himself. He only ever confides in close friends once he’s at a point where he deems it difficult to continue hiding everything to himself.
Upon hearing from his brother (who happened to be a regular student) that Yumenosaki Private Academy would open up their producer course and supplementary audio production classes to the public, Aimi decided to apply for enrollment and subsequently passed the entrance exams. He meets Anzu during his first week after accidentally bumping into her in which he quickly forges a friendship with her. Upon hearing about the rebellion that occurred around a year ago and the changes within the academy’s system implemented since then, he grows to admire and respect her and Trickstar, expressing the desire to meet them in the future.
His wish inadvertently ends up coming true sooner than he imagines, as the producer course begins to have fellow students work with different units within the academy for them to gain hands-on experience through practice sessions such as stage rehearsals or recording sessions. By some miracle, Aimi’s first unit that he collaborates with ends up being that very same unit he admires.
Aimi arrives early to the first recording session, meeting up with Anzu who introduces him to the rest of the unit upon their arrival. He expresses his excitement about working with them, exchanging small talk with everyone. Aimi learns more about the academy before the rebellion on top of the thematics and sound of Trickstar’s music. The session eventually begins and they get to work; throughout it, Aimi makes some slip-ups here and there due to a combination of nerves and his minimal experience with the equipment being provided to him, leading to Anzu checking up on him and Makoto stepping in to assist and provide tips and tricks to him that she learned from experience. Being in awe of Makoto's knowledge of audio equipment and appreciating her helpful, sincere approach to his mistakes, Aimi becomes interested in her and wants to get to know her better.
Over the next couple of recording sessions, Aimi gradually learns how to use the equipment and begins to hone his skills, his improvement becoming apparent as time progresses. Not only that, but he finds himself becoming closer to everyone in Trickstar to a point where they hang out with each other outside of academy and idol-related activities.
Throughout his time at the academy, Aimi would meet more people because of his activities and forge friendships with them. He would meet both Rei and Koga and with his ever-growing desire to learn how to play instruments to improve as an audio producer (and also out of genuine curiosity to learn something new), would offer Aimi the opportunity to come to Light Music Club meetings to learn how to play guitar. He would meet and become close to Arashi, growing to deeply admire and learn about self-care, fashion, and beauty from her. He also meets Izumi, and their relationship starts rocky as they constantly argue over small, petty reasons; however, they inadvertently grow closer to one another, though they're reluctant to admit this out loud.
Leading up to his graduation from the academy, worries begin to linger in Aimi's mind about his future and wanting to continue his education at a university. This only amplifies after graduation and being at a small post-graduation get-together Anzu hosts. Fearing that he’s eventually going to be left behind and feeling like he'll be stuck doing nothing significant, he makes the rash decision to isolate himself as a means of giving himself the space needed to think about everything, as well as not wanting to trouble anyone with his troubles. With concerns from family and friends growing, Trickstar takes it upon themselves to search for him so they can talk to him. When they find him, they discuss everything Aimi has been thinking about and provide comfort and reassurance to him. Aimi ultimately decides to continue with the decision of going to university while also finding a way to gain even more hands-on experience. He expresses his ultimate goal: to become a producer who can unite musicians no matter where they are.
During his break, Aimi finds himself developing a crush on Makoto, stemming from the events that occurred right after graduating and the talk they privately have with each other. Despite this, he continues hanging out with her and plenty of friends, as he does some producer work here and there after being offered (per Anzu's recommendation) to take on contractual work for Ensemble Square. When the first semester of university begins, he, Makoto, and Mao begin attending classes all while doing their respective producer and idol work on the side. Aimi also begins seeking out guitar-related gigs as he's grown to genuinely enjoy the hobby and seeks to use his skills to help out people who need temporary guitarists.
Upon the end of the first and the beginning of their second semester at the university, Aimi and Makoto find themselves unable to hang out with each other as much as they used to, gradually becoming swamped with work and having difficulty learning how to balance their respective workloads and daily lives. With that and their mutual feelings towards each other, they both become worried that they'll lose touch with each other. After talking to their friends about these feelings, they both ultimately decide that now is the time to talk to each other about everything that's been on their minds. Aimi offers to meet up with Makoto once she's done studying. After having dinner together and catching up, they both confess the feelings they've built up for each other.
Since then, they have been going out with each other as they've both gradually learned to balance their university, work, and daily lives.
